Love Notions – Navigator and Constellation Pullover Pattern Review
I was honoured to pattern test both the Love Notions Navigator and Constellation hoodie and Pullover patterns. Both these pullover or hoodies are exactly the same but drafted for different age groups and sexes. The Navigator pullover is a unisex children’s pattern whereas the constellation is the women’s. And of course, the men were not left out as the North Star is the men’s version of the same pattern.
These hoodies are great layering pieces during the cold months and can be worn over tops in less cold weather. These patterns are a must-have if you love sewing for your entire family or if you struggle with handmade gifts for the men and boys in your life.
The Pattern
All these three patterns have the option of both a hood or a collar giving you two options to work with. The half zip design makes dressing easy for young children while looking stylish. And the large pocket is ideal for keeping hands warm on chilly days. The cuffed sleeves and the hem band make sewing a breeze and also keeps the wind out. And the zipper section gives an opportunity for using custom panels or colour blocking.
Navigator Pullover is perfect for both boys and girls ranging from 2T to 16 years.

Constellation Pullover is designed for women in sizes XS -5X. The zipper section gives easy nursing access if needed. And the ladies version features three hem options: banded, curved and bound curved hem. A FBA (full bust adjustment) piece is included in all Love Notions Patterns.

North star Pullover designed for men in sizes XS – XXL. The men’s version is a more relaxed and roomy fit perfect for layering.
The Fabric
This pattern is recommended for stable knits such as French Terry, Ponte, Sweatshirting, Sweater knit and Fleece. I sewed both my versions in sweatshirt fabric which is readily available to me.
The Making
All Love Notions patterns offer an option of just printing off only the size you are interested in and also features trimless pattern assembly. which makes working with pdf patterns a breeze.
They are such an easy make and the pattern comes with links to video tutorials of the rather not so simple steps in the construction of these pullovers.

The Finished Project
I loved the final outcome of both the pullovers I made for myself and my daughter. I also purchased the North Star pattern to make one for my husband. And I have fabric ready to sew the navigator for my son too. Please let me know what you think. Would you consider trying out any of these patterns?
